The UBC Sinclair Travel Fellowship Program provides a unique opportunity for global community service, enhanced experiential education and collaborative learning for UBC Dentistry students. Through the generosity of the Sinclair Dental Travel Fellowship, the next generation of oral health professionals are supported to take part in unique and transformative experiences.
Before travelling abroad students must complete the Student Safety Abroad Registry and are also advised to check the Before Travelling page.
India
The India location is found in Spiti Valley, a cold mountain valley located high in the Himalayas. In the Spiti Health Program students participate in project planning, research, pre-departure training and post-field analysis and presentations. Each team builds upon the work of previous years with constant input and feedback from our Indian and other NGO partners.

Students join forces with local alumni supporter, Dr. Andrew Tsang, the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology, the local universities, and the Oncology Hospitals to provide oral health care, education and sustainable ‘train the trainer’ programs. In addition to their clinical and educational activities, students will have the opportunity to experience local culture.
